About Tucked beneath the Warmwaterberg Mountains in the heart of the Little Karoo, Sanbona is the Western Cape’s answer to a luxe safari experience. This 58 000-hectare Big Five reserve offers the type of immersion in nature that is hard to come by, with game-viewing drives, nature walks, ancient Khoi-San rock-art sites, birdwatching, stargazing (it is Karoo big-sky country, after all) and indoor and outdoor dining options. Each lodge has its own Relaxation Retreat for pampering treatments.
Good to know The rate excludes the conservation levy (R175 per adult per day). When booking for your honeymoon or anniversary, you’ll receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly, a welcome platter, romantic turn-down, a private bush picnic and an in-room dining experience on one of the evenings of your stay. Children over 12-years-old are permitted at Tilney Manor (at the same rate).
