In his first solo exhibition at EBONY/CURATED at Bordeaux House, Franschhoek, Johannes Scott takes a formalist approach to ceramic convention. By combining 17th century Chinese shapes and the Japanese decorating technique Nagashigake, his work invokes a postmodernist aesthetic. This collection of large scale, ultra modern pieces reflects on the conventional history of the ceramic vase.
The exhibition continues until 31 March 2019.
