The grand Hotel, Robertson

To break up our trip to Cape Town, we stopped in Robertson. We had planned on going to several wineries on our way, but our extended stop at the farmers market screwed that up as the wineries close at 3PM on Saturdays. Luckily the Glen Beck winery was open until 4, and we got to taste some wonderful sparkling wines. It's nestled in the foothills of the Hex River mountains, and is just beautiful.
Upon departing, Google took us on a Waze-like route through the dirt roads of the vineyards until we managed to get back to a main road which took us to the Grand Hotel, which really is grand. The owners are delightful and we had one of our best nights sleep in quite a while. Also, they have a wonderful restaurant. I had some delicious Karoo Lamb, which is named for the semi-desert region it came from, and it tasted unlike any lamb I've had before
