Tulbagh a beautiful Country Village

Nestled in a bowl of magnificent mountains and a serene valley, the town of Tulbagh is just a scenic 90-minute drive from Cape Town, making it an ideal destination for a day trip, a mid-week break, or a weekend getaway. The valley also serves as an excellent base for exploring the Cape Winelands and surrounding areas. Whether youโ€™re looking for adventure, family fun, or peace and quiet, Tulbagh offers something for everyone.

De Oude Kerk Volksmuseum stands as one of the last surviving cruciform churches in its original form, built-in 1743 by the VOC (Dutch East Indian Company). Inside, you'll discover a collection of Dutch period artefacts, and a few rare Cape antiques, all adjacent to the cemetery. The museum complex includes five historic buildings: De Oude Kerk, the Victorian House Museum and Christo Coetzee Art Museum, the Cape Dutch Pioneer House, the Earthquake Museum, and the Old Mission Church, four of which grace the historic Church Street in Tulbagh.
Come and spend some time in this delightful town in the Western Cape and enjoy the tranquillity and peaceful surroundings.

UPDATE 6: WATER QUALITY TULBAGH

Posted by Abongile Tyenjana on 09 January 2025 7:30 AM CAT

9 January 2025 - 09:30
Kindly note that our technical team has resolved the operational reservoir issues and we are currently filling it up since last night. Thus the water quality should be improving significantly and anticipate that the water quality should normalize during the course of today.
There are however still complaints of discoloured water by some residents, hence we will be flushing the affected lines, mostly in the upper laying areas.
For the interim the Municipality will for the duration of the day still provide clean drinking water via the water tankers, which is placed at the original strategic points as previously communicated:
1. Corner of Steinthal and Obiqua street
2. Corner of Obiqua and 1st Avenue
3. Lingomso Primary school
Thank you for your understanding. We apologise for any inconvenience.
