The Tourism Department says a new high-rise hotel in the Cape Town CBD can help to reiginte the local tourism industry and create job opportunities. Hotel Sky b...oasts 540 rooms spread over 28 floors. About 200 workers in the hospitality industry are expected to start working at the hotel in the coming months. Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, says Hotel Sky's affordable rates will also attract many South Africans who want to visit the Mother City: Hotel Sky, with the pricing that they have, they respond to what we are trying to do, reigniting the domestic market so it speaks to the domestic traveller who is looking to come to Cape Town and looking for affordable accommodation. This speaks to that, because most of the time the prices are too high for South Africans to enjoy the City of Cape Town and we are happy about that. Prices for rooms at the Hotel Sky start at R795 per room per night, including breakfast for up to two people. The project cost R300 million to complete.
