Val du Charron Wine and Leisure Estate is an experience-it-all destination offering luxury accommodation, wine tasting, two restaurants and a spa. Originally a fruit farm from 1699, this remarkable estate changed hands in 2006 to its current owners who are conscious to keep the property in touch with its historic integrity.

When you wander around the estate and admire the stunning views and vineyards with the resident Great Danes walking about, it makes for an overall feel-good farm experience.

Val du Charron is a real find. This is because the two restaurants that are on site have you not worrying about driving home and furthermore, it is situated only within an hour’s drive from Cape Town!

The life-size steel elephant built from scrap metal, the steel horse and the angel sculptures lining the walkways of the estate, makes for great photo moments and is showcase to the unique visiting experience that the estate offers.

Pizza Vista, as the name suggests, is the restaurant geared towards pizza lovers and guarantees gorgeous views! Their delicious wood fired pizzas and great wine will make anyone happy. Enjoy your food on the sprawling terrace or inside at the beautiful stained-glass window. Guests can lounge on the lawns next to the restaurant and feel the refreshing spray of the splash pad during the summer months. This is where the kiddies cool off while mom and dad can keep an eye on them while dining.

The Grillroom is a carnivore’s dream although it does offer vegetarian options too. It is the more sophisticated dining option of the estate.

4-star Guesthouse accommodation at Val du Charron comprises of 16 en-suite rooms, all with their own balconies. The views of the Hawequa Mountain range from these rooms puts one in a state of relaxation and takes your breath away.

Alternatively, choose 5-star accommodation, The Coach House, which offers three spacious suites, all with their own plunge pool, private patios and built-in fireplace. The three suites are spacious, very tasteful and, in the case of the Presidential suite, pure opulence.

You can experience total relaxation at the Val du Charron Spa which offers a variety of treatments and products for your pampering experience.

The popular Wild Boar mountain bike trails start and end at Val du Charron. The six routes cater to all mountain bike preferences and you are more than welcome to enjoy a beverage or meal after your ride.
