The picturesque village of Wellington is the perfect destination for a quick break with long weekends and the first school holiday of 2021 coming up. Within an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Wellington is renowned for its gracious hospitality, unparalleled scenic beauty, wide open spaces and an array of tourism attractions.

It is well-known that Wellington is one of the safest Cape Winelands travel choices during COVID-19. Our establishments are highly aware of COVID-19 protocols and promote strict adherence to the guidelines. This commitment to the safety of our visitors earned Wellington one of the first World Travel & Tourism’s first Safe Travels accreditations in 2020.

Visit Wellington has combined accommodation with an experience aimed at the specific interests of local visitors to take the guesswork out of putting together a short getaway.

Take your pick, pack your bags and get to Wellington for a well-deserved break!

Wellington Wines

Duke and Doughnut pairing for two adults (R120) and two kiddies (R120).

The Bovlei cellar, on the Bainskloof road in Wellington, serves as our tasting room with interesting wine pairings offered throughout the year. Taste and purchase wines in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with breath-taking views of the mountains and vineyards.

Their standard range of wines, called Duke of Wellington (Chenin Blanc, White Pinotage, Duke Cabernet Sauvignon and Duke Pinotage), is paired with four uniquely flavoured soft and sweet deep fried dough balls. Sink your teeth into flavours of chocolate, berries, gingerbread and the lighter coconut-covered doughnut whilst sipping on easy-drinking wines.

For the younger guests, we can treat them with a more age-appropriate pairing, where the flavours of juice and snacks are released.
