Engagement in creative activity has a way to create a space that makes one feel safe and comfortable. Your mind is blank other than what you’re doing at that very moment, colouring-in. Adult colouring-in has become quite a thing and we are turning to crayons and felt-tips for their soothing and therapeutic qualities. We hope that our drawings will help you beat the stress of covid-19 and provide some sort of art therapy.
Wellington is situated 10km from Paarl and offers much in the way of historic architecture. Our town was put on the map in 1853 with the opening of the famous Bainskloof Pass, the oldest mountain pass in South Africa and an intrinsic part of the Western Cape history. Prior to that it was a tiny farming community, centered around the beautiful Huguenot Church – one of the buildings that today stands as evidence of Wellington’s rich cultural history.
This can also be seen in a number of heritage buildings such as the Wellington Museum that features diverse culture exhibits from the many ethnic groups and pioneering individuals who contributed toward establishing Wellington. Wellington was known as the Wamakersvallei (Valley of the Wagons) named after the Voortrekker ox wagons that would stop and gather at Wellington before venturing further into untamed lands in the 1800’s.
