DIEMERSFONTEIN WINES KICK-OFF THEIR ANNUAL PINOTAGE ON TAP EVENTS WITH A BLAST!

Diemersfontein Wines & the organisers of Pinotage On Tap are possibly still celebrating the outstanding success of their first of four annual events that took place in Durban at the end of July.

Tickets to the event sold like hotcakes on Computicket and the customary last-minute fans once again queued up anxiously at the gate when the event opened.

True to its reputation, Pinotage On Tap once again over-delivered and the guests to this nationally celebrated vinous-celebration where duly impressed! The wine flowed in abundance – obliging to its name-sake, and the offerings where nothing short of superb – and of abundance one must add! Live music was provided by two of South Africa’s top bands and included a two-set opening by the Stone Jets, followed by the internationally acclaimed meg-band, Freshlyground! (since we can’t give too much away, we can only say that the crowd visibly displayed their approval…)

Frequent guests to this event, also known as “Potters” have learnt to expect an extra surprize – and this year was no different – or perhaps it was – in that there was more than just a surprise or two! Repeat guests are also familiar with receiving a handy little “goodie bag” on arrival, but this year the organisers stepped that up too, and each guest received an even “cooler gift” – although we may not disclose exactly what it was yet. During the music sets, a surprise guest appeared on stage, who was none other than Aubrey Pato – a phenomenal Durban-based opera singer – who despite changing the music genre entirely with his gentlemanly and smart-suited appearance, lifted the lid off the event and electrified the atmosphere!

With one down and three to go (POT events), Diemersfontein Wines and the organisers of Pinotage On Tap have deservedly already earned valuable recognition for hosting one of the hottest events of 2018! This phenomenal one-day festival is now in its 14th year and has acquired an almost cult-like following, as fans of previous years know to cling on to a good thing – and ensure they return year after year! The next event is taking place at Casalinga Ristorante in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg on the 18th of August 2018.

Jo’burg will be followed by Cape Town – on home ground at Diemersfontein Wine Estate in Wellington on the 1st of September and the last event will take place in Clarens on the 3rd of November 2018. Most fans (who’ve attended before) have an inkling of what they’re in for, but this year has certainly taken things a few notches further.

Pinotage On Tap is an event for almost all ages – as it’s only the little ones (under 18) that are understandably not allowed to attend – yet. However, due to the variety in music, the offerings on the day, the sociable and chill-down aspects and especially for the shared-love-of-wine, this event is clearly everyone’s cup of tea (or glass of wine?) Fans can expect a day to remember – and to quote their appropriate marketing slogan “a sensational detonation”!

For those who’ve yet to experience this ultimate wine festival extravaganza for the first time, we can only tell you this… The name-sake Pinotage, (the Original Coffee Chocolate one produced by Diemersfontein Wines) literally flows from the barrel taps all day long, whilst top live music bands add entertainment and atmosphere. Plenty of delectable foods ensure that your appetite is kept equally happy and the social gees will initiate you to the best wine festival experience ever!

Pinotage On Tap was awarded the title of the “Best Wine Event in the World” by Drinks International in 2014. Together with this accolade came the interest of more sponsors who delight in the opportunity to also showcase their brands and products at these esteemed events. Therefore, some well-known brands such at Aramex, Montague Dried Fruit & Nuts, Pura Beverages and Roses Handmade Confectionary, have added even more value to the event offerings on the day!

Tickets are available at Computicket and include the signature “welcome gift” on arrival, your wine glass (or pass) to endless Pinotage (on tap), live music, games, wine pairings, on-the-day competitions and the best wine festival experience ever!

Please note, due to this being a wine festival, no under 18s are allowed.
