During April Breytenbach Centre entertains with a book launch, a book discussion, a group exhibition, a solo exhibition and the recently launched monthly Wine Wednesdays.

Boekbekendstelling – Strafjaart

Hierdie besondere groepuitstalling, wat op Sondag 17 Maart geopen het, kan nog tot 11 April in die Breytenbach-galery gesien word. Louis Jansen van Vuuren en sy medekunstenaars, wat baie van hulle skeppingsprosesse in Frankryk geleer het, se werke is te sien.

Proe Wellington-wyn by Breytenbach-sentrum

24 April

Die tweede maandelikse gesellige wynproe-aand, aangebied deur die wynplase van die Wellington-wynroete plaas.’n Musikant op die buiteverhoog sorg verder vir ’n heerlike kuieratmosfeer.

Kaartjies vir ’n glas en wynproeë kos R50 per persoon. Pizza’s kan gekoop word.

 

Anne-Ghrett Erasmus kurator by Suidoosterfees

25 April

Anne-Ghrett Erasmus, kurator van die Breytenbach-galery, is vanjaar weer die kurator van die uitstalling in die Marmer Foyer by die Suidoosterfees, wat van 25 April tot 1 Mei by die Kunstekaap in Kaapstad plaasvind. Die hele onderste vlak van die ontvangsruimte is opgeknap is en verdriedubbel. Die fokus is nou op vyf verskillende ruimtes waarvan elkeen op ‘n eko-vriendelike tema konsentreer. Dit sluit in ontwerpersmeubels, oudhede, kuns, keramiek, plante en mandjies. Anne-Ghrett het besluit om soveel moontlik kunstenaars en produkte van Wellington uit te stal. Suidoosterfees-programme is by die Breytenbach-sentrum beskikbaar.

Relax in the coffee shop, book shop, gallery, poet’s garden

The Breytenbach Centre is, except on public holidays and Sundays, open daily. The hours are from 08:30 till 17:00 on week days and from 09:00 till 13:00 on a Saturday. Visitors are welcome to visit the gallery, the gallery shop, the bookshop and the poetry garden and have a cup of coffee and something to eat in the coffee shop. Wees (aan)dadig by 2019 se Tuin van Digters

Die agtste jaarlikse Tuin van Digters, die tuiste van die Afrikaanse digkuns en vlagskipprojek van die Breytenbach-sentrum, vind op 13 en 14 September plaas. Nie net sal Breyten Breytenbach en Ampie Coetzee, wat in 2019 hulle 80ste verjaarsdae vier, op gepaste wye gehuldig word nie, maar die Ingrid Jonker-prys vir ’n Afrikaanse debuut digbundel sal ook weer aan die wenner oorhandig word. Vanjaar se tema van die Tuin van Digter – (aan)dadig, is ’n skerpskepping van Breyten self (‘Ons is nie skuldig nie, ons is (aan)dadig’). Teken solank die datum aan en kry jouself gereed vir nuut doen, anders doen, oopkop doen, (aan)dadig wees.
