If you’re into being active and getting the adrenaline pumping, Wellington will take you outdoors to experience a super summer in the heart of the Cape winelands.

Enjoy a game of golf at the Wellington golf club, known for its warm hospitality and casual facilities.  Established in 1908, the club offers a beautifully manicured 9-hole course with a par rating of 72.  Visitors are welcome.

Wild Boar Trails are another adventure just waiting to happen with great MTB and hiking trails.  Explore Wellington with new sections of tracks and a stunning network of trails. The trail centre is situated at Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate, which is the start and finish points for five market trails.  There is another trail on open gravel roads that has to be navigated by GPS and caters for riders who do not like too much single track. A further two trails start and finish at Doolhof Wine Estate and the Hawequas Scout Adventure Centre respectively.

The beautiful Bainskloof Pass between Ceres and Wellington is a hiker’s paradise and home to spectacular fynbos vegetation with amazing floral displays in spring and early summer.  Clear rock pools on the Witte River is the perfect place to cool down on hot summer days.  Booking is essential due to the popularity of the trails.

The people of Bontebok Ridge Reserve just outside Wellington is driven by a heart for conservation and a passion for the land where fynbos grows and antelope roam.  The hospitable staff will make you feel like family.  Enjoy the splendour of Africa during a game drive where you can spot eland, wildebeest, red hartebeest, blue cranes, springbuck, duiker, grysbuck, grey rhebuck and quagga. Rustic wooden cottages located right by the dam can accommodate up to twelve people and will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the reserve for even longer.

If glamping is your style, a stay at the luxury tented accommodation of Africamps at Doolhof Wine Estate is a must.  Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the picturesque setting in the vineyards surrounded by majestic mountains and a nearby river will tick all the glamour boxes – including an outdoor wood-fired hot tub.

Get a bird’s eye view thanks to Skydive Two Oceans and tandem skydive into the heart of the Cape winelands. During the climb to altitude, visitors will be astounded by the incredible views of the surrounding winelands, the beautiful Table Mountain and two sparkling blue oceans.
