Embracing our roots
Posted by Nande Bija on 23 March 2023 9:40 AM CAT
There's nothing more inspiring than embracing our very own roots of arts and creativity. All our knowledge has its origin in our perceptions, where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art.
is not just only a place to visit it’s like an achievement or the biggest thing to do on your bucket list. We have a permanent collection of artworks by Hugo Naudé and Jean Welz. We also have a few sculptures by Bill Davis.

Not forgetting the poetry book launch by Dr Andries Swanepoel don't miss out!!

Any plans for the upcoming school holidays?
Enjoy outdoor activities at
Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden it has a large secculent collection and a three hiking trails the Shale trail, Grysbokkie trail and the Heuweltjie trail. There's a large lawn with a jungle gym to keep the kids entertained and perfect for relaxing and enjoy a picnic.
The
Kleinplasie Museum is unique in the sense that is has structures which make up a traditional Cape farm yard and there are a variety of demonstrations you can watch. From Monday to Friday enjoy watching any number of the following: coffee making; candle making; rolling tobacco; bread baking; donkey cart rides; metal work and even soap making. On Saturday afternoon what how bread is made, unfortunately there are no demonstrations on Sundays. If you would like a bit more insight why not request a guided tour, remember these need to be booked in advance.
Not forgetting the
Nuy on the hill is situated about 10km past Worcester travelling on the R60. There are two stops on this short stretch worth pulling over for as you approach the Nuy Valley, the Overhex Winery and
Pampoen Padstal
Reasons to Visit Worcester
Posted by Nande Bija on 14 March 2023 10:00 AM CAT
This is one of the great reasons to visit Worcester. Stay at a semi off-the-grid farmstead and enjoy the surrounding attractions!
Wine cellars like
BC Wines for tastings at the highest producing wine farm in the area or a day out at
Stettyn Family Vineyards (offering a MTB route and delicious lunch options.)
Visit
Mountain Brewing Company on one of their open days (follow them to see when.)
Quaggaskloof Waterski Club is located nearby for watersports and fun for the whole family!
A fan of camping? At
Quaggaskloof Waterski-club camping is an option with a view of the water and an on-site bar.
Right around the corner, you will find
Rivierplaas Campsite also a must see with a surprise or two for the kids. (Which I'm sure a young at heart adult will enjoy just the same!)
