Cape Winemakers Guild bursaries for three new student winemakers

Who are we?

Twenty nine years ago the Cape Winemakers Guild started a process that would raise the quality bar for the South African Wine Industry forever. Eight independent winemakers with a singular vision pooled together their resources and created a groundbreaking association. They wanted to ensure that great South African wines would stand out amongst the best in the world.

With stringent membership criteria, and objective measurement of wine making progress along with continuous collegian support, the Guild constantly improves and innovates with outstanding results over the years.

Today a significant number of top winemakers in the country are part of the Cape Winemakers Guild and continue to raise wine standards higher than ever before, single-mindedly striving to extract the full potential from our unique South African terroir and to set new world-class benchmarks for South Africa and indeed the world.

Membership of the Guild remains exclusive by invitation only and follows a process of nomination and voting at the Guild’s annual general meeting. Potential members are only invited if they have been responsible for producing outstanding wines for a minimum of five years and they must continue to produce excellence to remain members of the Guild, which guarantees an enduring association of top end wine producers.

The Cape Winemakers Guild motivates these members to craft the highest quality wines available in South Africa and truly some of the best in the world.
