Lay of the land The spa has four treatment rooms, three with views of the valley. There’s also a hair and nail salon, his-and-hers steam rooms and a plunge pool overlooking a tranquil lily pond. The relaxation area has a 15-metre infinity pool for dips in summer, plus a fireplace and blankets on massive couches for winter. Spa guests can now also book lunch or dinner in the hotel dining room.
There’s more A fresh fruit-juice infusion, heated floors and next-level spa attire set the tone – nothing stock-standard about these robes and slippers. And the treatment beds are big enough to stretch out in all directions, at the perfect temperature and made with the plushest of fabrics. It’s light years ahead of normal spa fare. Luxury travel brand, CV Villas, released a new report on the most popular wine regions as well as the most beautiful vineyards, with Franschhoek’s Boschendal rated as the “Most Beautiful Vineyard In the World”.
As wine tourism grows in popularity, google searches for “wine holiday” and “vineyard tours” are up 22% for 50% respectively over the past 12 months.
CV Villas unpacked much of the data, analysing global data from the largest wine marketplace, Vivino, analysing the world’s top 200 wines and cross-referencing them with their region.
The analysis revealed the most popular wine regions, with France’s Champagne region taking the cake. The study calculated the region’s score by taking the top wines for each region and combining their average Vivino score out of five to give a grand total. 46 of the top 200 wines were from this famous French region.

To reveal the most beautiful vineyards, a thorough list of 200 wineries was compiled, and the number of associated hashtags was analysed. Those with the highest number of hashtags were listed as the most beautiful.
Franschhoek’s own Boschendal was listed as the “Most Beautiful Vineyard in the World”. Stellenbosch was listed as fifth in the “World’s Best Destinations for Wine Lovers”. Tokara Winery, Waterkloof and Spier also made the “Most Beautiful” list
