Eye-Catching New Packaging with Innovative and Practical Opening Mechanism Launched

Franschhoek, 4 September, 2017:  Terbodore Coffee Roasters has launched their fresh new packaging. Sporting bold colours and an opening mechanism that’s a South African first, it allows coffee lovers to keep their coffee fresh and sealed in the bag without having to decanter the beans or ground coffee.

“We’ve been working on bringing this innovative new packaging to market for some time now,” says the man behind the look and feel of Terbodore, Michael Macaskill. “We’re beyond excited about these colourful and clever bags.” Featuring zip pull technology, once the cover strip at the top of the bag is peeled away, a plastic resealable zip is revealed. “This allows you to pour or take out the coffee you need, and then seal it again where it’s kept super fresh. It’s easy and ideal for home use or while you’re travelling.”

“Since we started as one of the country’s first specialty coffee producers back in 2004, we have been constantly innovating along the way. It’s all about giving our customers the best coffee experience possible.”

All the favourite Terbodore blends and flavours remain, including The Great Dane, This is Africa, Mac Espresso, Mocha Java, French Vanilla, English Toffee, Dutch Chocolate and Italian Hazelnut. Macaskill is quick to point out however that an interesting new premium single origin blend will be released in the coming weeks.

The new bags are available immediately from Terbodore’s online store and from their Franschhoek roastery, with the KZN Midlands roastery following suit soon after. They will start appearing on the shelves of a whole host of Pick ‘n Pay and SPAR stores around the country over the next few months.

About Terbodore Coffee Roasters:

Not much has changed since we roasted our very first batch of coffee in 2004 on the Terbodore farm in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Sure, the batches got bigger as word of our coffee spread and our commitment to the craft grew. But despite our pursuit for the perfect cup, our Great Dane, now grey around the muzzle, still has a keener interest in the whereabouts of farm cats rather than the rich, defined flavours of the perfect brew.

Still his presence has become symbolic of everything that we strive for the moment we fire up the roaster – heritage, courage, patience and dependability.

From the first day we started roasting, we took great care to procure only the finest green coffee beans. Combining skill and patience, we sift and roast our beans, consistently producing coffee we gladly put our name to. We pride ourselves on one of the most honest coffee brands around, not compromising on the taste and never forgetting who we are.

Then there is our companion’s courage, something we needed in no short supply to open our second roastery in the Cape Winelands. Thanks to this leap of faith, we can now make our coffee available to connoisseurs around the country – still produced with the same love and meticulous care as we did in 2004.

We hope that you enjoy our product and craft as much as we do. Because as artisanal coffee roasters we feel that life is long enough for a slowly percolated cup, even in dog years.
