Franschhoek returns to the Winter Sculpture Fair

The popular Winter Sculpture Fair, a sculpture exhibition in one of Gauteng’s most beautiful landscapes, returns to the Nirox Foundation Sculpture Park over the weekend of 12 and 13 May. Organisers of the event, Artlogic, have once again teamed up with the Franschhoek Wine Valley to bring to the fair the finest culinary and wine offerings from this world-renowned region.
Top restaurants and wineries will set up shop alongside artisanal cheese, charcuterie and chocolate stands. Visitors will be able to purchase goods from a range of exhibitors to tailor-make their own picnic experience amongst the exquisite sculptures. Sample delicious food from these fine Franschhoek restaurants: Bread & Wine, Happy Valley Charcuterie, Franschhoek Kitchen at Holden Manz, The Franschhoek Cellar, Grande Provence, Fromage de France, Huguenot Chocolates, Bovine Restaurant and Terbodore Coffee. Creating the perfect culinary pairing wines from these producers will complete your sensory experience: Babylonstoren, Colmant, Black Elephant Vintners, La Bri, Boschendal, Môreson, Grande Provence, The Franschhoek Cellar, Holden Manz, Haut Espoir, Lynx Wines, Rickety Bridge, La Couronne, La Motte, La Bourgogne, Normandie, Stony Brook and Haute Cabrière. The Franschhoek Beer Co will take things up a notch with their craft beer offering.
The 2018 exhibition is set to be a one of a kind experience in partnership with an international sculpture park, Wanås Konst. Nirox has partnered with Curators, Elisabeth Millqvist & Mattias Givell from Wanås Konst, Sweden to present the 6th annual Winter Sculpture Fair. Visitors can wander the park and discover the artworks, and picnic amongst the sculpture with family and friends.
