Who are we?

Imbuko Wines is located on the farm Uitkyk up against the slopes of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains. Imbuko, means “Admiration for…..” in Xhosa, a nod to Former President Nelson Mandela, whose mother tongue was Xhosa, but also to the environment and the people that produce Imbuko Wines. The company has developed from its humble roots as a bulk wine supplier to a purveyor of various wine products and services to the fast-moving global wine industry. What further sets Imbuko apart is that we are one of a few farms that cultivate rootstock, not only for own use, but for a large part of the South African wine industry. Thus, the Imbuko portfolio can boast the winemakers hand from rootstock to vine, and from vine to wine. In order to supplement the complexity of the portfolio, wines are sourced and blended from the most prominent wine regions of the Western Cape: Stellenbosch, Paarl, Tulbagh and the Breede River Valley.
