Massive Dissapointment

About 10 years ago, I spent some time at Inverdoorn. It was an incredible experience, and so when I saw your ad come up on my Instagram feed, I begged my boyfriend to agree to a weekend away. We Checked in on Friday, August 14th, and checked out first thing Saturday Morning.

I am a well seasoned traveller. Over the years I have accompanied my Mother on many trips. She has been in the travel industry for about 30 years, the last 10 of which, she graded establishments for a living. My German boyfriend has also travelled Europe and the United States extensively.

I’ll start with the one positive, there was a gentleman by the name of John, who really went out of his way to try and make our stay more comfortable.

However it was a huge disappointment, on all levels. From first impressions of peeling paint and bird excrement on the dirty front porch, before we even opened the door to the room. The room was cold, the air-con was set to one setting and did not work initially. There was no coffee or milk in the room. The coffee station made no sense, as there was no plug point, and we had to move the kettle next to our bed on the floor in order to make a cup of tea. The couch was dirty, stained and very uncomfortable, it also faced a wall that had a fire extinguisher and a small nail where there was a picture once upon a time. The linen was over-starched, and felt like sand paper. The room felt dirty, and honestly felt like a maids quarters that a bunch of dingy furniture was thrown into with no forethought.

The fact is that the room we stayed in is not 4 star. We did express our dissatisfaction with the accommodation and asked for another room, but were told the establishment was full. The staff however told us that they were only at 50% capacity.
