Who are we?
- Sometimes one’s passion weaves like a red thread through your life’s journey and dreams. If you are very lucky, this thread will lead you to a place where you actually get to live out that dream. For Rene and Birgit Reiser, this place was Jacaranda Wine Estate in Wellington. Having both been born and raised in wine-growing areas in Europe, wine was always part of their lives and so it informed their travels around the world, giving texture and taste to each destination. After more than a decade in China, Rene and Birgit arrived in South Africa where they decided to put down roots. It was here that their dream of running their own wine farm and cellar became a reality when they discovered Jacaranda Wine Estate in Wellington, the smallest estate in South Africa. After extensive renovations the couple could moved onto the farm and let out the cottage to guests. Then followed the cellar renovation and partial replanting of the vineyard, the maiden vintage being in 2013.
