PUBLIC PROFILE

Who are we?

Named after the prominent French Huguenot, Jean Le Roux, the cellar is situated on part of the historic farm where he settled to grow vines after leaving his home in Normandy in 1704. Till this day The House of J.C. Le Roux bears testimony to the contribution made by this illustrious family in the picturesque Devon Valley outside Stellenbosch. The first sparkling wine, a Sauvignon Blanc, was made at The House of J.C. Le Roux in 1983, followed by South Africa's first Pinot Noir Méthode Cap Classique in 1985. Another innovation in 1999, the country's first off-dry Cap Classique, La Valleé, has enabled many novices to appreciate the elegance and refinement of a Cap Classique.
