Visitors to Lanzerac Wine Estate can look forward to a new offering with the introduction of vineyard tours, affording you the ultimate wine experience from start to finish.
Situated in the heart of the Jonkershoek Valley, Stellenbosch, Lanzerac is renowned for its rich, fertile Tukulu soils, stretching from 100 to 480 metres above sea level. The farm currently has 46 hectares of land under vineyards, comprising 60% red wine grapes and 40% white wine grape. Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage are the two main red varieties with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc representing the white varieties. The vineyards are irrigated by three dams which receive their water from mountain streams and rain, allowing for superior quality water. The farm also boasts several fauna and flora species, including porcupine, duiker, guinea fowl, baboon, caracal and the odd otter. Falcons, eagles and several other bird species regularly circle above the cliffs of Botmanskop, whilst Egyptian geese and African Coots have made the dams their home.
If you’d like to experience a guided vineyard tour, which will be available to guests at 10h30 and 14h30 every Monday and Friday at a cost of R70 per person, please book beforehand via the Lanzerac Tasting Room. Included in your experience is a wine tasting.
