Who are we?
- Monterosso, an italian winery run by the De Franchi family, is situated on the Koelenhof Ridge, near Stellenbosch. Owner Papa Socrate, born in the town Monterosso-al-Mare of the famous Cinque Terre in Italy, purchased the estate1977 and has now fulfilled his dream with this classical Tuscan-styled cellar. The 80 hectare is managed by his sons Francesco, who handles the administration and Ornegio, who is the winemaker. We produce an award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese.
