VALENTINE’S DAY LUNCH AT FABER

Spoil that special someone with a farm-to-fork Valentine’s Day lunch, in the heart of the winelands. Tables are socially distanced on their veranda, overlooking the lush gardens and vineyards, allowing guests to soak in all the fresh air and sunshine, with views of the Paarl Rock, Simonsberg and Table Mountain.

Guests are free to choose from their seasonal and organic á la carte menu or indulge in our six course FABER menu, to experience all that chef Dale has to offer.

The contemporary and wholesome dishes can be enjoyed with a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including fresh juice, 0% beers, kombucha and mixers.

As they pride themselves on serving seasonal, local and organic produce, mostly harvested from their organic garden, the menu has not yet been finalized.

When making a reservation, please notify them of any dietary requirements or allergies the kitchen needs to be aware of. Please note that a deposit of R150 per person is required to secure the booking.

sesame + soy avocado, crispy potatoes, marinated tomatoes, pickled onions, fresh fruit, croissants, lavash + toast. Finish off with churro balls.

Brunch is served from 8am-3pm.

HARVEST PICNIC AT MELLASAT VINEYARDS

Mellasat Vineyards will now be open from Mondays to Sundays, 11am to 3pm for their Harvest Picnic.

The Harvest Picnic basket consists of a selection of local cheeses and charcuterie, seasonal salads and fresh fruits, some of their artisanal deli items as well as their speciality selection of chocolate truffles just to name a few. Priced at R399 for two people the picnic includes a bottle of non-alcoholic Sparkling Grape juice. To be enjoyed outside in their lovely garden surrounded by the scenic beauty of their vineyards and Paarl mountain views.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and protocols they require a minimum 24-hour booking and payment be made to confirm your picnic and visit to the farm.

A VALENTINE’S TO REMEMBER AT NEDERBURG’S THE MANOR

Let love and romance flourish at The Manor this Valentine’s by treating your loved one to a laid-back picnic or dreamy dinner by candlelight.

Open-air picnic

The open-air picnic on the lush lawn surrounding The Manor, offered at R460 per basket, features a selection of local cheeses and charcuterie to start, accompanied by olives, pickles, nuts and hummus, with freshly baked bread rolls. The main course is roasted baby chicken with caramelised new potatoes and a fresh and crisp salad. Enjoy a deliciously decadent chocolate brownie as dessert. The picnic basket serves two adults and includes a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine.

Alternatively, opt for a dreamy “journey of flavours” dinner inside The Manor, situated in our historic manor house, or on their stoep, on the evenings of Friday and Monday, 12 and 15 February, with the last seating at 6pm (considering the current nationwide curfew of 9pm).

On arrival, delight in some delicious bites to stir up your appetite, followed by a starter of smoked salmon roulade with candied orange and pink peppercorn fraiche.

For the main course, select between

• top-quality beef fillet served with butternut atchar, sumac roasted cauliflower purée, free-range quail egg, Madagascan vanilla butter pommes fondant and pan-tossed spinach OR
• fresh line fish fillet with a salt-and-vinegar cigar and a kelp and Parmesan crisp with homemade tartare sauce.

Complete your meal with a dessert of chocolate mint sponge, Baronne poached baby apple, a white chocolate macaroon, and dark chocolate and orange mousse. After-dinner coffee and tea, with Petit Fours, are also included.

This lavish dinner costs R900 per couple, or R450 for a single person (excluding drinks not mentioned above). Pay only R650 per couple, or R325 per person, for the three-course meal, but excluding the bites on arrival and Petit Fours with coffee after the meal.
