With long weekends and the first school holiday of 2021 coming up many South Africans are looking for a perfect and safe destination to take a quick break. Paarl with its mild autumn temperatures and many spacious wineries, eateries and attractions is the ideal town to explore.

Nuwerus Lodge

Family Room with Terrace – R4000 (2-night stay)

Offering an outdoor pool, Nuwerus Lodge offers luxury accommodation on the outskirts of the historic town of Paarl. The guest house is set on manicured lawns, surrounded by trees, with majestic views of the mountains.

Nuwerus offers elegant and individually decorated rooms. Each leads out into the garden and is equipped with satellite TV, a bar fridge and tea-and-coffee making facilities. Free WiFi is available. A full breakfast is served in the morning.

 

Guests use of the guest lounge, barbecue and library area during their stay.

Nederburg

Picnic for 2 adults and 2 children.

Adult picnic baskets, serving two, cost R460, while kids’ picnic boxes (for those under the age of 12), serving one, goes for R100.

You may also add additional soft drinks, waters, non-alcoholic ciders and hot beverages to your basket selection. These are offered at an additional cost.

Starters: A selection of local cheeses & cold meats, fresh bread and butter olives, pickles, nuts, crackers, hummus.

Mains: Roasted baby chicken with lemon zest and thyme, crispy roasted new potatoes with caramelised onions, crisp garden salad and vinaigrette.

Sweet ending: Decadent chocolate brownie served with cream

Kiddies Picnic Box: chicken burger, dried fruit and peanuts & raisins (separate for allergies), fresh seasonal fruit, boxed juice and mini chocolate cake.

Mondays- Sundays starting at 12pm.

Picnic includes a bottle of Cuvée Brut sparkling wine with Nederburg’s compliments and they supply all the crockery, cutlery and picnic blanket needs.
