Well, it’s no secret that there is an endless choice of wineries in Paarl who all produce outstanding wine. When it comes to wine tasting, where do you start with a route this long? Leave it to us to round up the best wine tasting in Paarl.
WINE TASTING IN PAARL
FAIRVIEW
There are some really exciting wines coming out of the Fairview estate, in particular, the young and fresh Bloemcool range. You can taste these, along with the flagship Fairview Wines at the estate from Monday to Friday, 09h00-17h00. The tastings start at R20 per person but they also offer a cheese and wine tasting for R40 and a cheese, wine and olive tasting for R80.

FREEDOM HILL
With a choice of two tasting spaces – go for the fireplace in winter – Freedom Hill offers a classic wine tasting option for R30 per person or you can go all out for their toffee and nut tasting for R70 per person.

KWV SENSORIUM
Undoubtedly the place to be when it comes to wine tasting in Paarl, the KWV Sensoriumoffers way more than just wine. There’s a gallery filled with the works of local artists for you to stroll through but when you’re ready for wine, you have the choice of a number of options, including an art and wine pairing. MELLASAT
Mellasat has become known for their outstanding white pinotage and you can taste it, along with the rest of their fantastic wines at their curated cellarmaster reserve tasting. Book when you have a group as they only take up to 8 people at a time. For R100 you’ll taste five wines, each paired with a snack. Bookings are essential!

NEDERBURG
Possibly one of the most well-known wineries in South Africa, you know you can’t go wrong with a Nederburg wine.They offer a couple of different wine tasting options depending on what you’re feeling like, but we’re most impressed by their cheese and wine tasting. Meet Nederburg’s assistant white winemaker Chandré Petersen.

RHEBOKSKLOOF
You can get up close and personal with Rhebokskloof’s wines in their tasting room, where their experienced staff lead a tutored tasting of the different Rhebokskloof wine ranges. For R20, you can taste any five wines, but a bonus is that tasting fees are refunded against wine purchases.
