Val de Vie to host the Bridge House Mile and Summer Market.

The Bridge House Mile, proudly sponsored by Standard Bank, now in its 5th year has announced that the event will be hosted on Sunday 4th February 2018 at Val de Vie Estate, Paarl.
Val de Vie Estate is ideally positioned to host the event, in a scenic setting in the beautiful Paarl-Franschhoek Valley. The event has gone from strength to strength since its inception and sees the introduction of an 800m swim at the 2018 event. The 800m event is perfectly suited for swimmers not yet ready for the Mile, but find the 400m swim too short.
Distances, entry fees and starting times:
200m Swim = R65 / starts at 08:00
400m Swim = R95 / starts at 08:45
800m Swim = R105 / starts at 09:45
Mile (1.6km) Open Swim = R165 / starts at 11:00
Mile (1.6km) Elite Swim = R175 / starts at 12:15
Swim for Nature – Open Mile – WWF = R400 / includes a WWF hamper valued at R700
Registration:
Registration can be done on Friday 2nd (14:00 – 17:00) and Saturday 3rd February (09:00 – 13:00) at Bridge House School Theatre, R45, Waterfall Farm, Franschhoek. Registration on race day can be done at least one hour before the start of your race on Sunday 4th February 06:30 – 10:30 at Val de Vie Estate, R301 Jan van Riebeeck Drive.

Val de Vie Market:
The Bridge House Mile event ties in with the hugely popular Val de Vie Market where friends and family can relax in the summer sun, savouring the finest food and drinks from the Valley while enjoying a game of polo and live entertainment by Stellenbosch Indie Band Jackal & The Wind (@JackalAndTheWind).
Pony rides, jumping castles, face painting, craft making and dough playing will keep the little ones entertained.
The Val de Vie Market starts at 10:00.
*Parking fee of R50 per car charged on the day (not applicable to swimmers)
