Picnic Concert: Die Heuwels Fantasties at The Afrikaanse Language Monument

8 pm – 9pm

The ever-popular Die Heuwels Fantasties (translated as ‘Fantastic Hills’) again ascends the Paarl Mountain this year for another sizzling picnic concert at the Language Monument, in the Garden Theatre. Whether you are a hardened fan or have never experienced the pleasure of their live sounds, this opportunity is definitely not one to pass up. In addition, it is in aid of the Let’s Read! literacy project for children.

Visitors are welcome to explore the scenic surroundings via the footpaths while the children entertain themselves in the playground. Bring your own drinks (no glass) and picnic basket or order one at the enlarged and improved Volksmond Coffee Shop on +27 (0) 21 863 2800.

Coffee, light refreshments, wine and beer will also be on sale.

Bring a blanket or pillow and warm clothes. Safe parking is available and entry is controlled. Unfortunately, no dogs or fires are allowed.

Tickets, which are often sold out, are available at Computicket and the Language Monument at R140 for adults, R130 for students and R70 for children under 13.

One night only classical showcase at Nederburg

Doors open at 7pm with the classical show starting at 7:30pm.

The Stellenbosch City Orchestra will be bringing its hugely successful popular symphonic spectacular to Paarl for the first time when it presents Nederburg Classics on the 3rd of March in the award-winning winery’s Graue Hall.

A special selection of popular hits from Broadway, the movies and the world of jazz will include hits such as Barcelona, Feeling Good, Final Countdown, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Les Miserables, The Prince of Egypt and many more.

The orchestra, conducted by Paul van Zuilenburg, will be joined by a host of local choirs as well as super star soloists Andre Terblanché and Janelle Visagie.

Running for one night only, tickets are available from Computicket outlets at R175 a head.

Delicious Nederburg wines and a selection of refreshments will be available for sale.
