Whether you book your festive Christmas box with Chef Mynhardt, take the kids to special Christmas activities or enjoy Christmas lunch at Marianne Estate or Eat@Perdeberg, we guarantee you some festive cheer!
BOOK YOUR FESTIVE CHRISTMAS LUNCH BOX TODAY!
Festive roast chicken, Christmas gammon, beef tongue with pearl onions in sweet mustard sauce, golden pumpkin fritters drenched in a citrusy caramel sauce, fresh salad and asparagus for sides with a luxurious fruitcake as the grand finale
With clear instructions supplied for warming and crisping up the food even inexperienced home cooks can serve up chef quality dishes. It’s also the chance to support a small local enterprise.
Cost: Mynhardt’s Christmas Box serves 6 – 8 guests. It costs R2 700 per box (this works out to R450 per person for 6 people).
How to order: Place orders at orders@mynhardt.co.za or by Whatsapp at +27788005155 by December 18th. Payment via EFT or by credit card on delivery or collecting. Due to Covid19 no cash is handled.
Delivery/pick-up options: Boxes can be picked up on December 24th from 12h00 at 24 Station Street in Paarl. Deliveries in the Cape Peninsula will take place from 22nd – 24th December @ R250 per box.
Mynhardt’s Christmas Box can also be ordered for Johannesburg and Durban, with collection at the depots of LCM Express. Cost is R600 per box.

PICNIC AND FUN WITH SANTA AT THE ‘AFRIKAANSE TAALMONUMENT’

The ‘Taalmonument’ shares the spirit of giving with puppets, balloons and gifts. To relieve the pressure on him, Father Christmas has decided to hand out a few presents in advance during a picnic at the beautiful Afrikaans Language Monument on Saturday, 19 December 2020 – an evening also in aid of a good cause.
The enjoyable programme will kick off at 5pm with the puppet show ‘Hentie and the Christmas Crisis’ by Henties after which Mendl Lategan will entertain the children with balloon sculpturing. Around 7pm Father Christmas arrives and hand out presents before the sun goes down, after which the parents and children can continue enjoying a relaxed picnic until 10pm.
These picnics on Paarl Mountain are very popular with locals and visitors alike, who especially enjoy the sunset and beautiful night views of the valleys, mountains and peninsula. Guests are encouraged to explore the area and there are outdoor games and playgrounds for the children. The picnic series is also held in aid of ‘Let us Read!’, the monument’s literacy project for children, and guests are encouraged to donate a new or second-hand children’s book in support of it.
Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or order one in advance at the Oppi Berg Mobile Café on +27 60 382 9938 (R250 per couple, R450 per family of four). Admission is only R40 per adult, R10 per pensioner/student and free for children under 18 years. Tickets are available at Computicket and, if there are any left, at the gate on the day itself from 4pm. The performances start at 5pm and Santa should make his appearance at 7pm to hand out presents, so parents must please deliver their children’s clearly marked gifts by 6pm in his Christmas stocking in the Visitor Centre. Annual permits are available at R120 for individuals or R220 per family (currently offered at a 20%-discount), which includes access to all Full Moon Picnics.
