Who are we?
- As a youngster, Reuben Riffel rather reluctantly took on a part time job as a barman and waiter. Then he was asked to help in the restaurant kitchen, and Reuben began to have an inkling of this calling. A few years hence, and a lot of hard work under his belt, Reuben has matured into one of South Africa’s premier chefs, with one of Franschhoek’s most popular restaurants named after him. With Reuben at the helm, as chef patron the restaurant scooped top honours at the 2004/2005 Eat Out Johnie Walker Restaurant Awards, winning both Chef and Restaurant of the year. Reuben’s philosophy is simply to create extraordinary food with familiar ingredients that people know and love.
