PUBLIC PROFILE

Who are we?

In the heart of Paarl lies the serendipity of an unique congregation meticulously cultivating the fertile soil of its historical vicarage garden. The 0.9 hectare of single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon delivers an annual sought after limited yield of below 6 ton/ha. Owned by the Strooidakkerk (Thatched Roof Church), the vineyard is cradled by the Cape Dutch styled church, consecrated in 1805 and currently being the oldest building being used for devotion by the Cape Dutch Church. The church building also forms part of Paarl’s historical route. The Strooidak Cabernet Sauvignon is a modern symbol for the ancient connection between spirit and wine. From the soil being fed from decomposed granite, the wine delivers a meteor shower of goodness, rich and subtle with the elegance of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. Layers of black cherry, graphite and pencil shavings with full bodied cassis flavours. By appointment you can experience that the footprint of taste has infinite dimension.
