PUBLIC PROFILE
Who are we?
- The Witteberg Nature Reserve is situated about 250 km from Cape Town in the heart of the Witteberg mountain range, midway between Touws River and Laingsburg and southwest of the historic Matjiesfontein village. Our main objective is the conservation of the fynbos of the Witteberg. Our accoodation apartments are fully furnished and equipped for self-catering purposes, including bed-linen and bath towels. The bathrooms have a shower, basin and toilet. There is cutlery, crockery and most utensils you may require. A mobile braai unit is available. The fridge/freezer and lights are solar-powered. We can also power small devices such as mobile phones, laptops and cameras. Unfortunately we cannot run hairdryers and other heavy power-consuming devices. The stove and hot water geyser are gas-powered. Our water meets SABS standards for household use and human consumption, so no need to bring bottled water. Just bring along your foodstuffs and drinks - there is no shop in the reserve.
