Two important rivers have their origin in the mountains of Ceres, the Breede River and the Olifants River. The Breede River flows through Michell’s Pass and continues south-eastwards to exit into the Indian Ocean, while the Olifants River flows north-westwards through Citrusdal and exits into the Atlantic Ocean.
