NEW FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS AT LE POMMIER WINE ESTATE- by Nicola

Le Pommier Wine Estate is situated just outside Stellenbosch on the Helshoogte Pass towards Franschhoek. This family-friendly, wine farm boasts magnificent mountain views. It offers a restaurant, various accommodation options (including self-catering units), a wine tasting area (that we are busy revamping, set to re-open end of September 2020) but don’t fret we currently offer wine tasting in the restaurant for your convenience. A country-style vineyard barn function/ wedding venue was built in 2019, catering for guests between 80-150 pax. A smaller venue adjacent to the restaurant is available for smaller functions.
We are thrilled to announce that we have two brand new Food and Wine pairings! The pairings are available at our restaurant; but will also be available at our NEW wine tasting room, once we have completed our renovations. Pre-booking for this is advisable.
These hearty pairings both feature three of Le Pommier’s wines paired with either bite-size pizzas or the South African Food tidbits. The current Le Pommier wines on offer include a Sauvignon Blanc, dry Rosé, rich Red Blend (Cabernet Franc /Malbec) named Mac.
The Pizza and Wine pairing consist of three Le Pommier wines paired with three pizzas. The pizzas in the pairing are also on our menu if you feel like wanting more. Pizzas are available daily from noon.
Le Pommier Sauvignon Blanc paired with Danish Feta, caramelised onions and olives (the SAUVY). Le Pommier Rosé with a tangy barbeque chicken & feta pizza (The SIMONSBERGER). Le Pommier MAC Cabernet Franc/Malbec Blend with the boerewors, pepperoni & bacon (the MENEER). We think, YUM!
The South African Food & Wine Pairing will bring you hearty warm flavours that are true to Le Pommier’s style. With the South African Food pairing, you can look forward to; Traditional Chicken Pie with Le Pommier Sauvignon Blanc. A South African Favourite Bobotie with Le Pommier Rosé. Beef Carpaccio, pickled Shimeji mushrooms, parmesan shavings with Le Pommier MAC Cabernet Franc/Malbec Blend.
