Who are we?

Eikendal cellar with its distinctive barrel-vaulted cellar and towering fountain is a landmark on the R44 road between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Situated in the “Golden Triangle” of wine growing, Eikendal vineyards flourish in a mountain and maritime microclimate, ideal for the production of quality wine. Eikendal is owned by the Saager family from Switzerland, who recognised the potential of the area, replanting the vineyards and modernising the cellar facilities. Eikendal’s innovative winemaker Nico Grobler concentrates on classic varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and the Flagship Bordeaux-style Eikendal Classique. Numerous awards and accolades from around the world bear testimony to Eikendal’s fine wine heritage.
