Regarded as one of South Africa’s premier social calendar highlights and the perfect end to a working year as well as kick starting the festive season, the organisers of the annual Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival, have made the tough decision to not proceed with this year’s festival. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been done in the best interests of all.
Although the festival won’t be going ahead as planned this doesn’t stop you from visiting the Franschhoek Valley during the festive period now that leisure travel is permitted. Home to SA’s only Méthode Cap Classique Route, which allows you to tailor make your own bubbly experience, why not plan to venture to the valley and turn what would have been a day visit into a weekend escape. Spring Rejuvenates Franschhoek

Not only does September bring with it a new season, but we also celebrate in the news that most of our wineries have reopened to the public after an extremely long hibernation. September is also Tourism Month, and this couldn’t have been timed better as it coincides perfectly with the joint collaboration between the Western Cape government and Wesgro, who have launched the “We Are Open” domestic tourism campaign. This innovative campaign encourages South Africans to take advantage and explore the beauty and diversity of the many affordable and world-class attractions that Cape Town and the Western Cape has to offer. The Franschhoek Wine Valley being one of them.
