Beautiful capture and words by @mycandydlife about our valley and @franschhoekcountryhouse. "A true Provencal-style paradise, the charming @franschhoekcountryhouse is set in the picturesque Cape Winelands region of South Africa and is the place to stay if you're after classic luxury, exceptional food and superlative five-star service. This photo was taken when I arrived but unfortunately doesn't show the magnificent mountains encircling the town! Rating: My rating: Facilities/services: Two secluded swimming pools, spa treatments, on-site fine-dining restaurant, shuttle and driver service Rooms: choice of elegantly appointed rooms, garden cottages and villa suites Recommended length of stay: 2+ nights What to do: Take a tour of Franschhoek on the famous wine tram and sample the roses, reds and whites made on the local vinyards (basically get LIT on a tram). At some of the stops, you'll be given a behind the scenes tour of the vinification process, which, depending on how tipsy you are at that point, can be quite interesting! Treat yourself to a craft beer and some tasty tex-mex at @tuktukbrew After a long hard day of soaking up the beautiful sights of Franschhoek, sit back, relax and enjoy a burger and vino al fresco at @oldroadwineco as the tram passes by just metres from your table Okay, I thought I should include some non-food/drink related activities too so people don't think I'm a fat alcoholic Have a stroll through the town and you'll be sure to find something unique in one of the boutiques There are also plenty of art galleries and jewellers to peruse More of a thrill-seeker? Explore the scenic mountains on horseback! You can even incorporate wine tasting into your hack but I honestly would not recommend drink-"driving" if you're anything like myself Have you visited the Winelands? What else would you add to this list? " & : @mycandydlife
