This licencend restaurant is situated on the premises of De Doorns Cellar.  Hexvallei Ledeklub is a popular venue for social get togethers and pizzas on Thursdays.  The soothing ambiance and A-la-Carte dishes served on Friday and Saturday evenings, will keep you coming back for more!    

The Hexvallei Ledeklub is open from Wednesday to Saturday. You can either dine-in or order takeout but you have to collect it yourself. The Hexvallei Ledeklub is good for children and for groups.

Matroosberg

Ahoy! Have you ever wondered where the name Matroosberg acquired its name?

The answer: when you look up at the Hex River Mountain while entering the Hex River Valley towards De Doorns in the north east, you will spot a rock formation that indicate an outlining in the shape of a sailor standing on his boat.

If your dream is to roam the Matroosberg and if you are a skilled mountaineer, then we are inviting you to come and hike along this unchartered route and to visit the site of the sailor and his boat.
While overlooking the Hex, you will enjoy extraordinary, monumental and epic views that you will remember for the rest of your life.

You will also see the Groothoek kloof while gazing across lush greenery of the valley.

RIM OF AFRICA

The RIM OF AFRICA and the Traverse of the Cape Mountain is the home to a variety of hiking trails that are there for skilled and experienced mountaineers. UNESCO has declared the Hex River Complex a world heritage site back in 2015.

Thomas Hut and the TRAVERSE 4 are hosted by the Hex River Mountain and it is one of the most challenging and spectacular and astounding trails on the route.

Only experienced hikers who are registered as MCSA Members are allowed and have access to these routes for guided hikes.

R 400 per site. 4 Adults or one family. One vehicle.
Max 24 people, 6 sites. Only on e group at a time.
Showers toilets and water available.
Panoramic views. Mountain Bike trails, hiking trails,4by4 trails and the historic railway line. Completely secluded. Omly access by 4by4, hike or Mountain bike in, or hi rise bakkie. Off road caravans can make it.
Just you and the Karoo. Only 2 hours from Cape Town.
