Please find attached the programme for November when the theme will be FAITH, RELIGION, SPIRITUALITY.
A series of very interesting films including: the Danish masterpiece, ORDET (1955); Bergman’s WINTER LIGHT (1963); THE ROBE (1968); THE MISSION (1986); LUTHER (2003); DOUBT (2008); Martin Scorsese’s SILENCE (2016); FIRST REFORMED (2017).
On Saturday 18th at 5pm as part of the Poetry in McGregor Celebration, there will be a live a concert featuring accomplished performing artists Lynelle Kenned (soprano) and Elna Van der Merwe (piano). The programme will feature:
Berlioz’s Song Cycle: LES NUITS D’ETE (Villanelle; Le spectre de la rose; Sur les lagunes; Absence; Au cimetière; L'Île Inconnue)
Jean-Pierre Steyn’s Song Cycle: LIEFDESTOG (Reis; Eerste Liefde; Ek herhaal jou).
There will also be a number of Afrikaans songs including Malidie Slaaf se lied; Die Berggans het’n veer laat val; Aandblom is’n Witblom.
