Whatever the season, there is always something happening in Babylonstoren’s garden or something new to discover.

NEW KITCHEN GARDEN

Babylonstoren has recently expanded their kitchen garden to accommodate the growing demand for freshly harvested vegetables for their Farm Fresh boxes and their two restaurants. This one-hectare patch named ‘moestuin’ (kitchen garden) has provided their chefs with a seasonal bounty incorporated into the new winter menu at Babel.

In keeping with the typical Cape Dutch building style of the farm, this new garden, situated next to the Succulent House, is surrounded by a white stonewashed wall. Visitors can now stroll among the four sections of the garden, planted with a variety of seasonal vegetables like asparagus, artichokes, rhubarb, rosemary, cabbage crops, fennel, leeks and herbs like coriander and parsley. In preparation for next summer’s pumpkins, big areas have been prepared with lupin, fava beans, peas, grains and wild mustard.

SIP ON SPRING WITH BABYLONSTOREN’S BITTERLEKKER DURING SEPTEMBER

On Spring Day bitterlekker, Babylonstoren’s very own sparkling non-alcoholic aperitif is turning two years old. In celebration of this marvellous occasion, we are setting up a pop-up tasting stand in the garden all September long. Come and sip on Spring with us!
