WHAT’S ON AT BABYLONSTOREN

February is the best time for grapes. On the farm, they are harvesting wine grapes, and in the garden, a favourite summer stop is in the shade of the pergola, which is covered in table grape varietals. From one end of the pergola to the other, we have 19 varieties growing, carefully selected so that they ripen one after the other.

New Milk Room at Babylonstoren
The newest addition to our farm portfolio – our new Milk Room just opened its barn doors. This quaint space sits adjacent to the existing Farm Shop, and showcases our rich offering of uniquely crafted cheeses, butters and other dairy indulgences. Known in Afrikaans as the Melkkamer, it is the latest addition to our cherished farm-to-table retail portfolio, also including the Lekker Room, Pantry and Meat Room, where the best of the Boland and Babylonstoren is on display for browsing and shopping.

Nuts about Almonds
Our beautiful almond orchards with their generous yield are an annual highlight at Babylonstoren. Towards the end of January, the almond harvest kicked-off. Nonpareil is the main cultivar grown on the farm, giving the largest yield and best quality almonds. This year, we’ve expanded our almond offering to include our very first nut-based vegetarian and vegan milk.
