Run the Vines is a success story of a great idea that has grown into a great all-year-round event with collaboration, hard work and passion. Lans Pepler approached the Drakenstein Local Tourism Association’s General Manager, Annelize Stroebel, with the idea of holding trail running events on the beautiful wine farms in the Paarl region.

Annelize thought this was an amazing tourism opportunity for our region and put Lans into contact with the wine farms.

The rest, as they say, is history!

Run the Vines is sponsored by Auto Atlantic & Auric Auto.

The series started in March 2015 and has grown in numbers as well as being a popular family friendly event.

It caters to the novice runner as well as the more serious runner and is the perfect spot for family and friends to gather at a different wine farm every month. At each event there is always good food, great wine, tons of hospitality and live music.

Benefits offered when entering the Run the Vines

  • A free membership to The Vines Club that will give you special discounts on food, wine, merchandise and accommodation at some of the farms belonging to the Paarl Wine Route. The list of farms and discounts will be confirmed before the 1st event of the series
  • A discount on all Run/Ride and Dine The Vines Merchandise
  • Discounted entries to other events hosted by Onsite Events such as the Wagon Trail Night Series at the Anura Wine Estate
  • A free invite to the awards dinner after the last event in the series.

The next Run the Vines event will take place over Easter weekend at the popular Spice Route Destination. Be sure not to miss out on this as well as the first Ride the Vines event!
