Children, we love them and understand that mealtimes in restaurants is a grown-up thing and that little feet want to run and climb and little hands hate using a knife and fork but would rather paint and draw.

BABYLONSTOREN – GREENHOUSE

At the rear of the garden, tucked away between the oak trees, is the Greenhouse restaurant. They offer guests a wonderful refreshment station after their walk through the garden. The food is served picnic-style in wooden crates with the preserves, jams and salads served in weck jars, while fresh bread from our wood-fired oven come wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white Babylonstoren paper. Bring the young ones and visit the water wonderland named Old Bullfrog, that features creatures from their garden like frogs, lizards and a big bullfrog at its center spouting water. Around 380 000 pebbles were hand-picked and carefully placed to create the spiral. Find it next to Babel and their hotel reception.

FAIRVIEW – THE GOATSHED

Goatshed Restaurant has fresh and homemade products. Over the past decade, they have perfected their menu of delicious farm-style comfort food, award-winning selection of artisan cheeses and their diverse range of handcrafted wines. They aim to bring the paddock and the farm as close to the table as they can, preparing their dishes from scratch and making sure they use as much of their farmed produce as possible with as little waste as they can manage. They invite you to enjoy a delectable meal, great company, and only the best of times. The goat area can entertain the kids.

In the summer, sit under the oak trees and take in the panoramic view of the winelands, reaching so far as Table Mountain almost 70kms away, or in winter, when it is chilly and raining, huddle inside to sit near the fireplace and warm up with some of our schnaps made on site.
