The Boland town of Paarl will be celebrating spring with the return of the annual Waterblommetjie Festival on Saturday, 1 September.  Four local wine farms have joined forces to showcase this indigenous, seasonal delicacy and will offer a fun-filled line-up for the whole family.

Visitors will be able to try waterblommetjies, which is only available for a short period each year, prepared in several different ways from the traditional waterblommetjies stew to soups, samosas, spring rolls and even decadent waterblommetjies ice cream.  The participating wineries Boland Cellar, Domaine Brahms, Rhebokskloof  Wine Estate and Windmeul Cellar are conveniently located within a five kilometre radius, so festival goers can pop in at all four between 09h00 and 16h00.

Great waterblommetjies and wine pairings as well as fabulous entertainment are also on the cards.

Free entry to all four venues can be secured with the donation of one tin of canned food per vehicle.  The food will go the official festival charity The Haven Night Shelter in Paarl.  Collect a stamp from all four participants in your festival passport to qualify for amazing prizes such as gift vouchers and product hampers. For more information, visit www.waterblommetjiefees.com.
