CELEBRATING NATIONAL PINOTAGE DAY IN PAARL

Pinotage is one of the wine world’s few “designer grapes”. Pinotage is probably South Africa’s most treasured wine, because it was invented in our country in the 1920’s.

Abraham Perold, the father of Pinotage, was born and buried in Paarl. His intention was to combine the positive qualities of Cinsaut with the more difficult Pinot Noir.

On 13 October we celebrate this South African home grown grape varietal.

Have a look at what the Paarl wine producers are planning during Pinotage month.
