Arriving in vintage cars the " Sonder Nonsens Vreetsaam Toer" enjoyed lunch at the Kroonplaas Restaurant & Patriot Coffee (Engen Truck Stop), today.
Vintage means cars older than 30 years. Antique cars are even older, at least 45 years old.
The club celebrates its twenty-fourth year of existence and cars must be a 1960 model.
After a delicious lunch, they departed to Matjiesfontein where they will stay the night in the famous Lord Milner Hotel.

MEDIA EDUCATIONAL
Day 2
Saturday morning we met up with our guests at Aquila Private Game Reserve, Touwsrivier(WC), after they had a good night's sleep in their luxury rooms.
We had a few options regarding welcoming drinks and opted for a cup of coffee to warm our insides.
We thoroughly enjoyed the early morning game drive and our guide was very informative. A great activity to do with kids and to keep them occupied this school holiday, starting today. (29 September 2023)
The game drive came to an end, and we returned for a buffet breakfast served in the dining room. One of the cooks mentioned that he serves up to 350 eggs per day for breakfast. Each one is perfectly prepared for your taste.
After the flavorsome breakfast, everyone departed. Bringing an end to the Media Tour.
Again, thank you to Cape Winelands District Municipality for some of the funding, therefore making the Media Educational possible.

September we celebrate Heritage Month to mark our nation's diverse culture and heritage.
Watch the Springboks game on the big TV in the Bar at Karoo 1 Hotel Village, approximately 20km from Touwsrivier.
This cold weather is perfect for relaxing in front of the fireplace and indulging in their delicious wood-fired pizzas.

RAM – RESCUE AMONG MANY & COMPASSIONATE HEARTS
It all started with a phone call we received from Carol Bruton (Rescue Among Many) - Cape Town, stating that she would like to feed the Community of Touwsrivier on Mandela Day 2023.
Touwsrivier Tourism Association can’t thank RAM & COMPASSIONATE HEARTS enough for their initiative to collaborate with us and feed 4500 x people in our community.

I am proud to say that our Fab Collab on Mandela Day 2023 was a huge success. 67 x Collaborators work together to clean, clothe and feed Touwsrivier and its Community.
A warm thank you for every donation and hours spend on these Projects. 
Without you none of this would have been possible.
A special thanks to Cape Winelands District Municipality, Rescue Among Many, Compassionate Hearts, Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages and Sasko.
We also thank EMS, EFAR, SAPS, Fire & Rescue and Provincial Traffic for the Emergency Demonstration at the Touw Park Sports Ground. Grade 7 & 9 who attended now know which subjects to choose for a career path in EMS after school education.

Winter in Touwsrivier
Although we do have frost, rain, hail and snow in winter, do not be discouraged. Someone once told me that one takes the most beautiful pictures in winter. The stars appear brighter and the outside smell after the rain is unforgettable.
What could be more relaxing than sitting in front of a fireplace, relaxing with a glass of red? For the more adventurous, our Member Establishments have activities to keep young and old occupied. For example horseback riding, game/safari drives, quad bike tours, 4 x 4 trails, stargazing, mountain biking, knife forging-, survival/bushcraft weekends, hiking trails, veld school, flower and succulent tours, spa treatments, etc.
