This News Years Eve the tradition continues for The Candlelit Well & Spiral personal ceremony. Each year visitors to McGregor and guests are invited to take time out in our peaceful gardens to quietly reflect on the passing year and to personally prepare for the arrival of new beginnings. The gardens will be open from 20h00 to 22h00. Access will be through the front door of Temenos Manor House. You are most welcome to enjoy a drink sitting under the Ash Trees during this open time.
On the 1st of January Out of Africa will be serving its brunch menu to residents and guests from the village. We will be open from 9am to 11am serving your favorite morning dishes and coffee.
Wishing all our friends a peaceful and restorative festive season.

The annual McGregor Christmas market is on Saturday 17th December 2022. Beginning a new tradition and because of the risk of high winds – probably thanks to climate change – it will be an all-day affair. The day will kick off at 10h00 and end mid-afternoon. Or later, if everyone’s having a good time!
Please note that the doors will open at 10h00.
Access will be through the NG Church Hall (free entry). We'll be there - with a bunch of other exciting stalls and activities until 15h00.

Welcome to McGregor, the village that time forgot. Not only is this town one of the Western Cape’s best-kept secrets, but it’s also the perfect fusion of country living and nature.
Uncorrupted by commercialism, old and new merge together, creating an authentic village feel. Here you will definitely not find chain stores and fast-food places. Instead, quaint bespoke shops, delis, and country restaurants line the streets. Even the old South African tradition of the café corner shop is still thriving where you can find anything from a pin to a pumpkin – when in season of course! Life here is slow and easy and time is measured the old-fashioned way – by church bell. And don’t forget your early morning call, courtesy of your friendly neighbourhood rooster!

Access Week 2022
South Africans celebrate both Tourism Month and Heritage Month in September and there is no
better way than immersing yourself in nature by visiting our reserves with your family and friends
during Access Week 2022. From 20 - 27 September 2022, CapeNature will open its doors for an
entire week to everyone, free of charge. The global tourism sector plays a large role in reaching global
sustainable development goals by adding social, cultural, political, and economic value. Tourism Month
is dedicated to highlighting this value and encouraging people to explore the magical miscellany the
world we inhabit has to offer.
By visiting a CapeNature reserve, not only are you adding value to the importance of tourism, but you
get the chance to explore the rich cultural and natural history that lies in the Western Cape’s
magnificent landscapes.
