Ons het die naweek na my tuisdorp, McGregor, gegaan. ’n Klein dorpie naby Robertson wat so op die grens lê van die Karoo, Boland en Overberg – daar op die pad na nêrens.
My gunsteling ontbytplek is **
@51_mcgregor**. Jy eet altyd heerlik daar, met interessante disse en die mees unieke geure! Jy stap uit met nuwe kennis oor ‘n dis waarvan jy waarskynlik nog nooit gehoor het nie. En glo my, jy sal weer terugkeer om die volgende onbekende dis te proe.
Agter het hulle ’n pragtige tuin wat my laat dink aan ’n klein Babylonstoren – maar nog mooier! Jy kan rustig deur die tuin wandel terwyl jy wag vir jou koppie boeretroos.
McGregor se strate is vol lewe met toeriste en plaaslike mense wat hul besighede vertoon. Van die oggendmarkie (wat ons ongelukkig gemis het) tot galerye, eetplekke en wynkelders. Daar is selfs donkiekarritte vir dié wat lus is vir iets besonders.
Die McGregor Band het ook verbygekom met ’n begrafnisdiens. Die musiek het my weer laat besef hoe kosbaar en bevoorreg ons is om te leef.
McGregor lê diep in my hart, en ek sal julle binnekort meer wys oor wat alles hier aangaan. Maar hierdie naweek was my rusnaweek – so julle moet tevrede wees met hierdie lusmaker kiekies.
