Road Update on acces to McGregor

An update on access to McGregor: the McGregor-Robertson road is expected to be open to traffic by this weekend - 14 October. The approaches to the Keiser's river bridge will have been rebuilt. The surface will be gravel with the tar to be laid next week. Thanks to the @westerncapegov

In the interim, there is a shorter route via a private farm and which links the R317 to the Old Robertson Road. The family has, at their own cost repaired that road and is allowing the public access. They do daily maintenance to that road - as I saw yesterday. The fee they charge - to cover some of those costs and for the inconvenience of traffic through their private property is more than reasonable. Thank you to the @keyvenue

Love Life Festival 13-15 october 2023

We hope this message finds you well. We want to express our sincere gratitude for your enthusiasm and support for the Love Life Festival, which was originally scheduled to take place in McGregor from October 13 to 15, 2023. Your dedication and commitment have been instrumental in shaping what was set to be an unforgettable event.

Regrettably, we find ourselves in a situation beyond our control. This past weekend, our beloved town of McGregor experienced severe floods, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure. In particular, the main access road to McGregor's bridge has collapsed, making it impossible for festival attendees to easily access the town. Moreover, we have received an extended extreme weather warning for the first 10 days of October, heightening concerns about the safety of all involved and adding additional risk to more infrastructure damage that might occur and prevent people from accessing the village during the festival weekend.

After careful consideration of all these risk factors and in consultation with local authorities, the organizing committee has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the Love Life Festival to early 2024. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and for that, we sincerely apologize.

The safety and well-being of our participants, attendees, and the McGregor community are of paramount importance to us. We believe that heeding the weather warnings and addressing the infrastructure challenges is the responsible course of action.

We are currently working diligently to identify new dates for the Love Life Festival in early 2024. As soon as these dates are confirmed, we will communicate them to you promptly. We would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to all participants and venues to join us on these rescheduled dates. Your continued involvement is invaluable, and we are excited to share the festival experience with you in the near future.

We understand that this postponement may entail some inconveniences and adjustments, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these challenging times. Rest assured, we are committed to making the Love Life Festival in early 2024 an even more spectacular celebration of life, culture, and community.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this postponement or require assistance with any related matters, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at mcgregor@lovelifefest.org or you can contact Christi on whatsapp at 083 388 5614. Your feedback is important to us, and we are here to assist you.

Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and enthusiasm for the Love Life Festival. Together, we will overcome these challenges, and we look forward to celebrating life and community with you in early 2024.

With warm regards,

Christi & Love Life Festival Organizing Team

It is with much sadness that we unfortunately have to postpone the White & Rose wine event that was scheduled for 7 October.

Currently, with the uncertainty surrounding road closures, additional potential rain, service delivery, and structural damages we don’t want to take the risk of canceling at the last minute.

A new date will be communicated to you soonest.
