Bain's Kloof Canyoning - Wellington

A perfect way to spend a day in the mountains. This MicroAdventure will get you back in touch with nature in one of Cape Towns best ‘Hidden secrets’. This 30 kilometres (19 mi) pass was completed in 1853 and is one of the most picturesque passes in the Cape. The trip includes a short hike up to the upper reaches of the Witte River and then you'll make your way down the canyon, swimming, rock hopping and doing a few voluntary jumps. We end at Eerste Tol, where we parked our cars.

The Breytenbach Centre will celebrate the remarkable poet, Antjie Krog at their eleventh ‘Tuin van Digters

Die huldiging van die digter Antjie Krog, die oorhandiging van die Ingrid Jonker-prys vir ‘n debuutbundel, ‘n optrede deur die Nederlandse digter, skrywer en teatermaker Babs Gons, die amptelike bekendstelling van Ons Klyntji, besprekings van nuwe bundels van onder andere Antjie Krog, Adam Small, Philip de Vos en Loit Sôls en uitsonderlike musiektoonsettings van gedigte. Dit is van die hoogtepunte by vanjaar se Tuin van Digters wat op Vrydag 7 en Saterdag 8 Oktober 2022 by die Breytenbach Sentrum in Wellington plaasvind.

Krog, gevierde Afrikaanse digter, skrywer, joernalis en akademikus wie se werk in verskeie tale vertaal is, vier in Oktober haar 70ste verjaardag. Verskeie gespreks- en musiekitems om haar en haar skryfwerk en prestasies te vier, is op vanjaar se program. Sy sal ook self aan van die gesprekke deelneem.

Die tema van vanjaar se Tuin van Digters is *ek-is-jy-is. (‘n Individu se menswees is geanker in ‘n netwerk van menseverhoudinge: ek is omdat jy is; ons is omdat julle is.) Die groepkunsuitstalling, eensaam tesame, sluit hierby aan.

Tuin van Digters, wat oor die jare gevestig is as die tuiste van die Afrikaanse digkuns, word in samewerking met NB-Uitgewers moontlik gemaak danksy ‘n ruim bydrae van die Dagbreek Trust.
