PUBLIC PROFILE

Who are we?

The Afrikaans Taalmonument was erected on Paarl Mountain in 1975 to honour Afrikaans, the youngest language in the world. The three linked columns symbolize the contribution of the Western world to Afrikaans. The three rounded shapes represent the contribution of Africa and a wall represents the contribution of Malaysian people. It stands stall as a symbol of unity over Paarl.
